About i-Narrative

We came together in response to the riots of August 2024 to kickstart a campaign for change, taking a grassroots approach to engage and create awareness about the lack of protection for Muslims in Britain.

Why was i-narrative created?

The global rise of the extreme far-right rhetoric is influencing the British political landscape and impacting communities across the UK. The rapid growth of hostility towards Muslim communities has become normalised and entrenched across British society. Championed by the media and high-profile influential figures, this is creating the environment for a potential widespread anti-Muslim pogrom. i-narrative was formed as a response to the rising Muslim-hate and spearheads a national campaign to create awareness about the lack of protection for Muslims in Britain.

How well are Muslims in Britain protected against hate and racism?

In the UK, consecutive governments and political parties have failed to prioritise the urgency of legal protection for Muslims. Discrimination targeted specifically at Muslims is not established into legal frameworks; opening the floodgates for Muslim hate to be amplified (across media, politics and on the streets) without major repercussions. In order to safeguard the Muslim community it is essential to establish a policy that identifies, prevents and responds to anti-Muslim behaviour, speech or discrimination.

What does i-narrative do?

i-narrative is an independent, grassroots campaign for change, compelled to act due to the surge inhibited acts of discrimination against Muslims in Britain. i-narrative is a national campaign Is shaped by British Muslims and endorsed by influential community representatives, grassroots organisations and individuals and institutions across Britain. Taking a grassroots approach, our ambition is to engage the British community, bring awareness about the lack of legal protection for Muslims and encourage participation for delivering solutions for change.
